If you had to select images to describe who you are, what you’re all about, your dreams, your style, your passions, how would they look? What would be on the canvas? I was pondering this notion and decided it would be fun to pull together a host of images that I believe reflect my style, hobbies, interests, and dreams (big, big dreams). Vicki Archer of the always entertaining French Essence recently posted about ‘signature style’ where fashion is concerned.
Since I tend to obsess over homes and their surroundings, more than pencil skirts, {although I do love clothes and especially pencil skirts} these are images that inspire me, reflect my “favorite” design style, or at the very least make me sigh.
No words…

These are fabulous, and what a great idea! You need to be living in Europe. The pictures say a thousand words. Now for the “what images say me” part….hmmm…a porch full of wicker, a cozy room with a fire burning in a fireplace, a bouquet of daisies tied with a red ribbon, a bicycle with the basket full of flowers, bookshelves, a table set with white dishes. I will have to start looking…

Kelly, This would be fun…it’s a bit of a reveal, even to me, when you finish selecting images that make you happy and realize, wow, *do *I love old world that much? Your porch full of wicker appeals to me as well, but I do gravitate to old moss-covered stone walls and pediments. I’ll look forward to seeing your wordless images. 😀 xo, Karen

THAT FIRST ONE… is like a picture of my soul.
But more solid. I’m not sure my soul could withstand a century of ivy growing on it. I’m easily irritated and have sensitive skin.

I think we should request that builders return to building old, stone houses with an exposure that would allow for plenty of ivy and moss to grow on it. Oh, and that they be very affordable. Is that too much to ask? 😀 Karen

So pretty, Karen. And a great idea. I especially love the photos with hydrangeas and roses and any of my own personal imagery would have to have lots of them, too!
Thanks so much for stopping by and for following along. It’s lovely to “meet” you!

Jeanne,
Thanks so much. Hydrangea in any color is always photo worthy. 😀

Karen,
What beautiful images! I had to sigh over each one of them. I loved it that you included a picture of Maddy looking so regal on the sofa. Lady Mary and Matthew from Downton Abbey made it perfect. Thanks for another wonderful post.

Linda, Thanks. I had to throw in my love of British “soap” opera series. 😀 xo, Karen

Beautiful Karen.. ALL of them. I like your style and would have to say that I like some of the same things. The warm comfort of home ~ a European feel. I believe that nature defines me and I try to be in .. or bring nature in my home when I can. Clothes are great but the way we live is telling too!

Karen, I loved the theme of this post! I think the pictures you chose really do describe you as I know you. When we were younger, we tried on different styles and colors. Over the years it has become clear what inspires us – what we want to surround ourselves with in our homes – what we aspire to. What a fun challenge to describe this in pictures!

Gretchen, Thanks! It is one of the comforts of maturing (code=aging) to know and understand who you are. xo, Karen
