For me, flowers are one of life’s little treasures. Whether they’re growing in your garden or purchased at the farmer’s market/grocery store, they seem to brighten a room, not to mention the mood.
That’s why I’m sure it will come as no surprise to my blog friends that I enjoy entertaining almost as much as time spent in the garden. Flower arrangements are the best way to satisfy that creative interest with the simple grouping of a bouquet.
With internet access, there are endless flower arranging ideas for the sharing. I recently did tour of the topic over at Home Talk. This site is relatively new to me {thanks, Victoria} but like Pinterest and others, you can zero in on specifics and gain a host of inspiration in a short span of time.
Using a garden urn as a table centerpiece adds a bit of drama and elegance to the table.
I invite you to visit my clipboard of Flower Arrangement Ideas over at Home Talk. I think you’ll see lots of great ideas on the subject and possibly get lost in the vast array creative inspiration.

What are you flowers are you arranging this summer?

Gorgeous flower arrangements, Karen! at this time of year, I particularly love a bowl of sweetly scented sweet peas freshly cut from the garden……as Monet said “……I simply must have flowers”.
Your garden must be looking absolutely wonderful……

Hi Jenny,
The garden has been plugging along but due to a fairly cool summer so far, there are some plants that aren’t performing as they usually do during this time of year. How’s summer been in England, you’ve had some heat, right.
So nice to hear from you, I hope all is well.
xo,
Karen

You may be the only other person I’ve ever seen with sweet peas… I mean, aside from floral stylists. Do you grow it from seed? OR I guess your climate lets the annual version re-seed?
I grow the perennial, but it’s not scented… and I haven’t bothered to grow the annual every year. The giant blooms of dahlia and zinnia are my favorites!!
Going to check out your board!

Yes, I grow them from seed and they do smell nice but they can be persnickety. The experts suggest you plant the seed in late fall for optimum growth. I usually forget and plant them later so some years it’s been hit or miss with results. This was a good year. I didn’t know there was a perennial sweet pea, maybe I should look into that. Karen

Hi, Karen ~
Gorgeous photos and arrangements! Never heard of Home Talk. Thanks for the introduction. I’ll check it out this weekend. Hopefully, it won’t be another addiction. I’m already on Pinterest and Instagram 🙂

Loi, I know what you mean. I think I need to wean myself from a few of my addictions…don’t even get me started on how many lost hours I can burn at Pinterest. Hometalk is a site that has a limited number of topics as of now, but it’s nice because their garden topic often has helpful information on plants, how to control insects, etc. xo, Karen

Karen,
What lovely pics of flowers! I especially loved the one with the flower filled urn on the table. Very inspiring! Right now, I’m using lots of sunflowers. They are so beautiful and plentiful this time of year and they make a real statement arranged in a French confit pot. Don’t you just love summer!

🙂 not so much, but I do love her flowers! xo, Karen

The bouquets in the mason jars are always my favorite…a little “messy” and casual is also good. Flowers make such a difference in a room …it is one of those little details that are the added extra. We have daisies and more daisies here. I don’t know what has happened to the daylilies. Perhaps all the rain has not been good for them.I got rid of all the hydrangeas with the years of drought, but I bet they would have done beautifully this year. Thanks for sharing all the inspirational photos!

Kelly, I’m with you, there is something so charming about the canning jars filled with a fresh, spring bouquet. We are currently in a severe drought and I dread the eventual watering restrictions. I’ll be cautious about removing water loving plants. 😀 xo, Karen

Such a lovely collection of floral images, Karen!
I especially love that photo with the white hydrangeas in the vase atop that carved table in the library setting. Oh my heavens! Stunning!
Thanks so much for linking up!
Love your style.

I love flower arranging! I’ve bookmarked this post because there’s so much inspiration here. I love the urns! I haven’t been arranging may flower this summer, only a few locally-grown roses, but I love them!
Such a pretty post! 😀

Ricki Jill, Wouldn’t it be fun to have an urn filled with hydrangea and roses, and the table to accommodate such a creation? 😀 xo, Karen
