I have had a long standing crush on plaid. Hubby likes to say it’s my favorite color {smile} and he’s not completely wrong. There is something about the traditional plaids, in particular, that always attracts me.
I count my red check as plaid, is that fair?
Plaid used to immediately take me to the cooler seasons (fall and winter), but now I see plaid as a pattern that can serve spring and summer with equal relish.

So, I’m thinking I need to buy some of these clothes…
search for some Tartanware for the tables…
and head out in this car…
What do you think? Too much? Have I gone too far with the whole plaid thing?

If red cars get more speeding tickets than any others, can you imagine the trouble you could get into with that plaid one? I love all the other items and photos you have found. Scotland really looks exactly like those pictures. And I could definitely see that red and white bedroom in a beach house! Linda

Oh I so love this post. My mom’s side of the family is Scottish and my grandmother always has a cashmere throw in our family’s tartan plaid on the foot of hear bed. My mom has one too. When I was just visiting my grandma she showed me the most amazing tarnished silver pitcher that was the award for winning some sort of sheep show – the date inscribed was 1865, Scotland.

Karen, your post made me want to visit Scotland again – going to the source I guess! I think I’ve used plaid fabric in every house I’ve lived in. I’ve never grown tired of it and I don’t think it ever goes out of style. I guess I’m ready for the plaid car, don’t you think?
