This might be cheating, but today I’m simply sharing some Halloween images from Pinterest, blogland, and Martha. Those of you that adore this holiday probably already have your parties planned and decorations ready. It’s not my holiday…I enjoy the overall season, and I do like seeing the little trick-or-treaters at our door, but dressing up has never been my thing, so without further alienating the Halloween enthusiasts (many of them my friends)…
Leave it to Martha to pull off the good fairy costume with flair.
If I hosted a party, I’d definitely want to copy this cheerful vignette. Truthfully, we have these black birds (American Crow) in our neighborhood, what are the odds of training a few of them to sit around and look slightly menacing for an evening?

This is more my speed, white mums, a white lantern and a bushel of white pumpkins!

I love this time of year though I skip the décor for Halloween and keep it more on the fall side…then CHRISTMAS right after Thanksgiving! But the fun and food are hard to resist! I love Halloween, but not the scary version. Around the corner from us, there is a house that erects this massive jail/madhouse/cemetery thing that I find REPULSIVE. I do not understand the appeal of severed plastic limbs… I feel bad for their neighbors every single year.
We will get LOADS of kids seeing as how it’s a Friday, but will close up shop early to head out dancing… Paul won’t dress up, but I’m not one to ever pass up the opportunity to wear something ridiculous!

Hi Vicki, I really liked the white setting with the lantern and mums all in white. I may try that next year. I do love this time of year so I’m appreciative that we have an excuse [Halloween] to decorate starting October 1st, otherwise with our spring like temps we might be tempted to wait until November 1st to decorate. xo, Karen

Karen I loved this post, but I love Halloween and seeing how others decorate. I enjoy both the pretty decor and the scary stuff myself because I see it from the kid’s perspective. And kids think it’s fun to walk up to a spooky home! We can’t forget it’s for the kids. Although I love the idea of anyone dressing up no matter what their age…to me it says what a fun person they must be.
